Doesn't sound like she's trained in trauma. My cousin went to a therapist who sounds like she does similar to your therapist and relies on the client to ground. That was for processing through a car accident and some family issues. But with trauma, our brains work differently and get stuck in a bad place and that requires outside assistance to ground and balance. Honestly, not knowing any more than I do, I wouldn't continue with brainspotting if the practitioner is placing the onus on you to self regulate. Hell, that's the whole thing about trauma and ptsd, our nervous system has forgotten how to self regulate. So for self-safety? No way.
