CBD Oil for PTSD?

I was wondering if anyone has used CBD oil to treat the anxiety associated with PTSD? If so, what dosage did you use? How well did it work for high anxiety? I have intense travel anxiety associated with PTSD from traffic accidents.

I cannot get the doctors to give me anything that actually works for my anxiety. They want to give me Vistaril, which makes me drowsy, but doesn't tame the anxiety. So I am thinking of trying CBD oil.

I use a tincture of CBD oil sublingually daily. I am pretty sure it has some effect. Obviously the greater the concentration the better, but high concentrations may be prohibitively expensive.

I hear vaping works better and the effect is immediate, but vaping is contraindicated for people with lung conditions.

It’s touted as a miracle cure for everything with no side effects, but this isn’t true. (There’s no such thing as a drug or supplement that has zero side effects.)

Be SUPER careful if you’re already on Rx meds as interactions are possible. (I was almost sent into respiratory arrest.)

And yes, it can actually make anxiety worse. (It did for me.) It was agitation from hell. I ended up throwing away a $60 jar of CBD balm.

I’m not saying to not give it a try, as it seems to work for many people. Just go into it with your eyes open.

I'm a true believer in it's ability to help with pain and I know a couple people who swear by it for anxiety. Vaping works the fastest but doesn't last as long as the oil under the tongue route.
I'm using CBD Hemp Oil & CBD Products Manufacturer in USA - Green Roads -- I've also used Dead Link Removed They are pretty comparable but green roads has a vet discount :) both of them run sales all the time to help with the costs because it is spendy,

Thanks everyone.

I will use caution when taking CBD...

It is a little costly, so I am going to have to start with a low dosage, perhaps 350 mg's or so and see how that works. Since I only need it for the pain of fibromyalgia and occasional travel anxiety, I should be able to make a bottle of the tincture last a while. This may make it a little more affordable for me, depending on the size of the dosage I have to take to get the desired effect.

I use a tincture under the tongue (standard potency 15 mg cbd per ml) and a topical, that can also be ingested if preferred (coconut oil/cbd blend, 50 mg cbd per teaspoon). Lazarus Naturals is the brand. Once in a while I'll take a double dose if I'm hurting more than usual.

I was told to start low and slow with the tincture (I take .25 ml once a day). I've not experienced any weird or unpleasant side effects. I apply the coconut/cbd combo directly where it hurts every other day...sometimes daily if the pain is more intense, and on massage therapy days, I hand them the jar and have them put it everywhere. A little bit goes a long way.

I have definitely experienced pain relief and also feel it's helpful with anxiety to some extent, as long as I'm also using other tools that help. When I ran out, there was a noticable change in both the pain and anxiety arena. I do so many different things to try to help everything I have going on, it's hard to nail down just one thing as being THE most effective. It damn sure takes a village.

The Lazarus folks offer a 60% discount for long-term disability/veterans/low income households who meet their requirements for verification...

CBD Assistance Program for Veterans & Disability | Lazarus Naturals

Their products have been tested via third party testing. My massage therapist keeps it stocked, as well as uses it regularly herself, and it's been getting rave reviews from folks who've tried it. Best wishes for finding one that works well for your needs. Take good care.

Thank you @Tornadic Thoughts

I am so glad to hear that it is working for you along with the other things you do to deal with pain etc.. Anxiety and pain are two of my biggest enemies, (with the addition of depression).

I really appreciate the link. I think I may qualify for the discount. We shall see. In any case, I will take it low and slow as you suggest when I get started. I can barely wait to try it out.

Thanks again,
Lion

As it turn out, I qualified for Lazarus Natural's disability discount and ordered some high potency CDB tincture. I am still in the early phases of testing it out, but I can say this,....it does help with insomnia and pain (for me). I am still learning what the effects are on panic disorder and anxiety states. With doctors insisting I take a medication that I have already told them does not work for me, I am happy to have this as a possible alternative treatment.

For me i am taking 75mg daytime of CBD and at night i take 75mg CBD and 25mg THC for pain management.

For anxiety i feel the CBD does not help but it is the THC that helps that the edge off.. or it can make you more on edge. When dealing with bad anxiety my doc told me to vape. I use a dry herb vaporizer.

I am using MK-Ultra strains like cannatonic hybrids. And recently i came across Charlottes Web which i vape when my pain spikes.

The tinctures i hope to try one day. For now i try to manage my anxiety by breathing and mindfulness from dbt skills.
