Pretty much put it down to, your dealing with a pack of morons. PTSD is a DSM IV TR diagnosis.
You should not be diagnosed however with anxiety, as PTSD is an anxiety disorder... severe depression comes under PTSD, though a shrink will likely write it down separately due to legal reasons for prescription of anti-depressants. Social phobia, attachment, insomnia, etc... are not diagnosis when PTSD is diagnosed, they are symptoms of PTSD diagnosis.

yes I have always been aware that PTSD is covered and registered in the DSM IV TR, but it seems psychiatrists in this town are not willing to accept it as a 'mental illness', so therefore I am unable to obtain any form of support (networks, not cash).
I have thought about moving from this tiny place which is judgmental to the core, but I need support in place before I make that move, hence why I am here I guess!
