"... I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us." Romans 9:18 New Living Translation of the Holy Bible

Sometimes we need healing, from triggers and all the other symptoms of PTSD. Don't forget to ask the LORD to heal you!

Jeremiah 17:14
"Heal Me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise."

"Open the gates of righteousness; I will go through them and I will praise the LORD."
Psalm 118:19 New King James Version of the Bible

Psalm 116 New Living Translation (NLT)
Psalm 116
1 I love the Lord because he hears my voice
and my prayer for mercy.
2 Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!
3 Death wrapped its ropes around me;
the terrors of the grave overtook me.
I saw only trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, save me!”
5 How kind the Lord is! How good he is!
So merciful, this God of ours!
6 The Lord protects those of childlike faith;
I was facing death, and he saved me.
7 Let my soul be at rest again,
for the Lord has been good to me.
8 He has saved me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling.
9 And so I walk in the Lord’s presence
as I live here on earth!
10 I believed in you, so I said,
“I am deeply troubled, Lord.”
11 In my anxiety I cried out to you,
“These people are all liars!”
12 What can I offer the Lord
for all he has done for me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and praise the Lord’s name for saving me.
14 I will keep my promises to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.

15 The Lord cares deeply
when his loved ones die.
16 O Lord, I am your servant;
yes, I am your servant, born into your household;
you have freed me from my chains.
17 I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people—
19 in the house of the Lord
in the heart of Jerusalem.

Praise the Lord!

Many times in the Old Testament, it is written that some kings did what was right in the LORD's eyes and many did not. Here is some Scripture about a king that did what was pleasing in the LORD's eyes:

2 Chronicles 34:1-4 New Living Translation (NLT)

Josiah Rules in Judah
34 Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. 2 He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight and followed the example of his ancestor David. He did not turn away from doing what was right.

3 During the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his ancestor David. Then in the twelfth year he began to purify Judah and Jerusalem, destroying all the pagan shrines, the Asherah poles, and the carved idols and cast images. 4 He ordered that the altars of Baal be demolished and that the incense altars which stood above them be broken down. He also made sure that the Asherah poles, the carved idols, and the cast images were smashed and scattered over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.

Our God has shown us that it is important to worship Him and Him alone. Do you worship anything in your life, like money, for instance, more than you worship our God? I know sometimes I do! I wish it were not so (and I am ashamed to admit it), but I tend to think about financial things more often than than I think about God. Money matters cloud my thinking and destroy my peace of mind. I wish I did not think about these things, but I do! I just realized this recently and wanted to share it with all of you, because it might be something we have to become aware of and change in our lives.

Very nice video, @The Albatross Thanks so much for sharing it. It made me aware of something I have not thought of in awhile, that we are not yet perfect as He is perfect, but in us, He is working on perfecting us. We cannot be perfect without Him.

1 Kings 19:11-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
11 “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper."

Have you ever heard His gentle whisper?

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me" (Philippians 4:13)

If you just read the first part of this verse, it would immediately sound an alarm indicating arrogance: "I can do all things." This was the spirit that attempted to build the tower of Babel. This was the downfall of men like Saul or the Egyptian Pharaoh. Many today infected by humanism and without any trust in God - make the same claim: "I can do all things."

But the next two words in the verse take this out of the context of arrogance altogether: "through Christ." It is not a boast of self: "I can do all things." It is, I can do all things through Christ! There is a huge difference. It is one thing for someone to say, "I can do all things." It is quite different to confess, "I can do all things through Christ."

To get the impact of this, stop and think about what you couldn't do without Him! You could not effectively and thoroughly know your lost condition. Without Him, you could not have adequate concepts of God. Without Him, you could realize no victory over sin. Without Him, we would all be a victim of the wrath to come. Jesus said to His disciples "without Me you can do nothing," (Jno.[John] 15:5). In Ephesians 2:12 teaches outside of Christ, we have "no hope" and we are "without God in the world."

So with Christ through Him; in our relationship of active faith in Him we have strength we could not have any other way! Strength to adequately evaluate ourselves. Strength to know the difference between right and wrong (by faithfully applying His Word). Strength that comes through the remission of our sins. Strength in response to prayer we offer to God through Him. Strength of character as we follow His example and obey Him. This is strength in such abundance, we are able to do everything God wants us to do. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

"Of the strength which Christ can impart, Paul had had abundant experience; and now his whole reliance was there. It was not in any native ability which he had; not in any vigor of body or of mind; not in any power which there was in his own resolutions; it was in the strength that he derived from the Redeemer. By that he was enabled to bear cold, fatigue, and hunger; by that, he met temptations and persecutions; and by that, he engaged in the performance of his arduous duties" (Barnes).

I ordered a book today and thought it might be of interest to some of you too. It is called THE RENEWING OF THE MIND PROJECT by Barb Raveling. I think it will be of help in handling my PTSD, so that is one of the reasons I ordered it. I believe it is based upon this Bible verse:

"2 Corinthians 4:16New Living Translation (NLT)
"16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day."
