Right iv been on this 2 weeks now.

I thought they were working because iv been feeling very strange (stranger than normal!! :cautious:)

Id feel them kick in a couple of hours after taking them and id feel a bit high, which is nice.

I was having issues with crowds and new people but that seemed to go away ...or at least i thought

Id not had any mood crashes untill yesterday...and holy f*ck did i crash

I just couldnt seem to pull myself out this slump and was getting stressed by everything. My body just felt tensed up all day and I was getting soo pissed off with everyone i was around.
I then had the worst nights sleep. probs about 2 hours.

Then iv gone through the exact same thing today, to the point where my boss told me to just go home and chill. But i still feel worked up and i dunno why.

Is it possible that theyve just made things build up and then just made me tip over. or even prolonging my mood change?

Hey Alex, even with medication you can have a bad period. It can last anywhere from a day to a week and sometimes longer. You just have to take it for what it is. That is why in Australia the psych's class us veterans with PTSD as unfit for work, because out of the blue we can become useless to anyone.
I was travelling really well up until a few weeks ago then 'Boom' out of the blue I had a major brain fart.

Generally if drugs are going to have any adverse affects you will see it within the first six to eight weeks.

It will get better mate.

Having some one or something Piss on your Parade is all part and parcel Alex cocker.

You need to look at getting skills in place to help reduce how wet you get. Feelings can be a real pain in the arse but once you have a conection with them, you start to notice when you are taking a dive and can help steer yourself clear or at worst control the landing.

Control is all important with living with the beast. There will still be days, as Jimmy has said where the world falls to shit anyway, but with time and help you see it coming a lot more and can react to it.

Alex, what Jimmy and Angle said. I have personally field-tested Citalopram. It's assistance, mate, not a magic bullet.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that because you are on them you can let up on all the other coping strategies etc., you can't.
The pills are there to help, fire support to equipe you better to deal with it and start winning.
Keep going mate it's just a knock and they get less frequent and put it down to a lesson learned.

cheers guys.

im seeing my doc every 2 weeks while im on them and i saw him today. he said pretty much a similer thing and he reckons the reason i was down so long was because i was expecting the meds to jus pull me back out.

like you said they wont do that.

just soldiering on with it. Got a week off in barcelona which will allow me to chill out and relax into it. ill be with close family aswell so support is on hand.

see y'all when i get back

Alex

Hey Alex I've been on Citalopram for about a year now. While I still have bad days/ weeks and flashbacks overall I can say I feel like I'm not in a bad mood as often than I used to be. I can remember going to sleep angry just to wake up still pissed. I'm also eating xanax less. When it used to be everyday now I keep em for when I really need em.

Trying to go to college on that much xanax in the past was Damn near impossible and my grades showed. Things are getting better now. Hope they do for you too. Stick with it.
