Civilization V - Dummy Doo...

I just got the neighboring bully steam achievement by taking Florence. It was sad though, I had all these units taking on their city and the music got all sad and dramatic..I almost felt bad for them actually as I was launching arrows their way.

Nuking is fun but, if you plan to dominate the whole globe with coverage you might reconsider...but who knows maybe in this game you can clean up the radioactive fallout and waste. I guess I'll get to see how long it lasts when I get there.

I did think about the fallout.... though I haven't actually gone into the area yet, I keep bombing it further with a stealth presently for those exact thoughts. Maybe its time to sacrifice a tank unit and see how it goes...

Well... it seems fallout is nothing more than a nuisance really for the workers to cleanup, ie. it just takes them a long long time. So if you're going to nuke an enemy and then raze the city so it crumbles, and aren't interested in its land or resources, nuking is good....

I have aircraft carriers loaded with nukes and bombers, doing bombing runs then invasions.... awesome.

Anyone seen my husband ;)

At least he talks when playing this one & it makes me chuckle when he's "having his arse handed to him by a chick"! :p

I wonder if there is a way to avoid the introduction scene, I have to endure it every time I turn the game on.

I just about had it with Egypt, they make friends then conquer them, they have a civilization about the size of mine across the globe, I wanted to give them gold as a part of a deal but I didnt know it was gold per turn, i ended up giving them 250 gold per turn and now there a little out of control. I went to war with them just to break the deal. Since it is already 1910 I'm thinking about dealing with them right away, I could see it taking about 50 turns to crush them, however happiness is something I always have to deal with. I might just raze most of the cities in this case and take my own settlers.

Yer, I want to experiment with each way of winning to get a real gist of the game strategies. I lose to others because they win through science or culture... slowly learning the finites of the game strategy. I still like to dish out a good nuke though... heaps of fun.

I have been exploring the different policies... really makes a huge difference depending on your strategy.

Sorry there Nicolette. This game is so addicting but at least it makes you think. My girlfriend has said that I cannot do anything else the other day, but play Civilization. I do have other priorities in my life but I keep up on them pretty well, like finding a job or chores so shes okay with it, a good think too or I would be in trouble :)

In my game its 1950, 6 of my cities have built carriers and are in the process of loading up on fighters and bombers. Nuclear tech is in just a few turns and the Egyptian civilization has had a serious dent put in them in from the past 30 years of assault on their soil. I would feel bad but half of their cities are puppets, he offers peace but will not accept any demands on my part, his fall will come of that. The fact that he has already started the Manhattan Project means that I will continue my assault until his resources are then mine. My goal is to end his reign before year 2000 so I can focus my goals on space related technologies. And to end Egypts rule on the eastern world before he is nuclear capable, a society such as this has no business with such powerful technology and would likely use it to my detriment. I have already taken 6 of his cities and his capital is next. Lets hope that bombers and artillery rockets will suffice. With a happiness of 60 in my empire I could demolish another 7 cities without suffering reprocussions from my own cities and allied city states. Long live the Roman Empire!

It's now 1970, built my first space part. War with Egyptians is over with, I took their capital and several more cities and left them with the rest. The other four civilizations are about the same size and constantly war over each other, they have wiped out 6 other civilizations on that continent, which is good it means I'm out of the picture. I have no more desire to war with lancers when I have heavy armored units, bombers and nukes. With everybody out of the way the stage is set for me to go all out on building my tech up, which seems to be happening at a staggering rate. Soon I will be making more than a thousand gold per turn furthering my progress for that matter. Nuclear fusion will be next I think it is, in a few turns.

I tested out a couple nukes on Quebec, a poor city state on a very small island out in the middle of nowhere... was really devastating.

I don't understand what to do with the space parts. I have them all at my capital, surrounding it, but they don't piece together and take off or anything... whats the deal with the rocket parts?

Never mind.... found answer....

I won anyway by force... but I want to launch my rocket.
