I have to say, from where I'm sitting, I find it incredibly alarming that most of Trump's advisers have deep ties to Russia (and not just to Russia, to state-run companies), and that Manafort actually advised Yanukovych. That's not even mentioning Flynn, who has been spotted at Kremlin parties and makes regular appearances on RT. Nevermind that almost everything Trump says is a Kremlin talking point or a policy that Putin has been pushing for. There's a reason that Russia's propaganda outlets are constantly praising Trump, and a reason that the Kremlin's propagandists have been holding rallies in support of Trump in Moscow, despite the fact that they should really have nothing to do with the U.S. presidential election. I don't think Trump is deliberately doing anything for Moscow, but I absolutely think someone is pulling his strings without him realizing it. (And that's not to say I support Hillary either; I think they're both pretty terrible, unfortunately)

@gizmo - A lot of Trump supporters would agree it's a good idea to ban the press from his events.

Questions I would ask of anyone in support of banning unfavorable press from Trump's political rallies: Do you believe Hillary should ban conservative leaning press from her rallies? Should the White House ban unfavorable press from their briefings as well? How should "the press" be defined in the world of social media and freelance work? What happens when public office holders only give access and info to favorable press?

I'll spell it out clearly here.

Trump likes you as long as you like him.

The very instant you...
Agreed, also Trump is just like any other human being in that no one is able to keep all of their promises. As @EveHarrington said, that man's ego and the hatred in our country right now toward one another Americans against Americans outrages me too. "A kingdom divided against itself can not stand." I fear the hatred will become worse if Trump is elected. All my opinions of course, but I am with Eve on this one.

It all comes down to the freedom of speech I think so perhaps I was wrong in making that statement.
I'm glad you wrote this, because personally - I very much disagree with anyone limiting the presence of the press.

While it's true that the information pipeline is just glutted now - and it's very hard to find a non-partisan voice or two in the huge mix of people reporting - I would always rather have to listen to more people, and sort out the contradictions for myself, than to have fewer people to listen to, and only hear one side of an issue.

The fact is: Trump is not a politician. This is working in his favor, in that people who are against 'business-as-usual' politics feel that they can support him. Clinton is a politician - in fact, perfectly fits the definition of career politician - and so, she's everything that people who are anti-politics stand against.

Once you put down those factors, equally - it's possible to look at how they are talking, in terms of policy. Policy is what matters most, in my opinion.

Many would disagree with me, and say that the actions of a career politician (Clinton) can't be put down, and therefore, she must be considered as unfit for office.

But does that mean that Trump's policies are the ones we want to live under for the next four years?

This is a blog piece (so, an op-ed), and from the Washington Post, which was banned by Trump. But the piece articulates the current state of the ban, how it's seemingly flexible, and also, has valuable things to say about why it's a problem. I really recommend clicking the link.
Dead Link Removed

On a different subject - while trying to find anything anyone's written in support of Trump's media blacklist (I struck out there) - I came upon this well-written and researched blog piece about Trump's financial ties to Russia. I want to quote the summary paragraph, because it's a very good point:
To put this all into perspective, if Vladimir Putin were simply the CEO of a major American corporation and there was this much money flowing in Trump's direction, combined with this much solicitousness of Putin's policy agenda, it would set off alarm bells galore. That is not hyperbole or exaggeration. And yet Putin is not the CEO of an American corporation. He's the autocrat who rules a foreign state, with an increasingly hostile posture towards the United States and a substantial stockpile of nuclear weapons. The stakes involved in finding out 'what's going on' as Trump might put it are quite a bit higher...Even if you draw no adverse conclusions, Trump's financial empire is heavily leveraged and has a deep reliance on capital infusions from oligarchs and other sources of wealth aligned with Putin. That's simply not something that can be waved off or ignored.
From http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/trump-putin-yes-it-s-really-a-thing

Talking points memo has been criticized for having a liberal bias; so, of course, bear that in mind.

When I first heard Trump was running for president I found it funny in a "no way it will ever happen" funny. I'm not laughing anymore and I fear for our country. He is used to doing whatever he wants while people around him clean up and cover up his crap. He says how many jobs he's created but how many of those jobs were lost when he filed bankruptcy and walked away. He has no clue what a misogynistic, racist, narcissistic, power hungry creature he is. He has such a sense of entitlement he never stops to think how outrageous his statements are. He whole campaign has been one of inspiring fear, hate, violence and distrust. He has not spoken one word of "how" he plans to "make America great again". I wouldn't even put it past him if he does win to rename the White House the Trump House.
Now the Clinton's have had their share of scandal. But they are a seasoned political team. It might be Hillary on the podium but it is the Clinton team who is running. Our budget was in surplus the last time they were in office and it has not been so since. Hilary knows the political ropes. Does she know where some bones are buried and did she help bury them ? Probably, I don't think there is a politician who has never lied or did what would be considered not only illegal but treasonous. I imagine it's a pretty damn slippery slope. If the Kennedys dealt with today's technology and was forced to admit on national television their wily ways with women, history might have painted an entirely different picture of our beloved John & Bobby. The Clinton's have proven themselves politically capable IMO.
Trump has proven he can build but what has he built that's sustained other that his personal wealth?

I fear Trump has been in power and the top dog in his own world for too long like a spoiled child who is a bully besides and no one ever tells him what he doesn't want to hear. He is a hothead and speaks without thinking. That is diplomatic dynamite.

The more I listen to the black conservatives the more information I am collecting. I like them since it takes them so much courage to support the conservatives. I heard one today reporting how the democrats are assaulting them for being racist and other horrible things, it is not discussed in the media at all so far that I have found.

I heard today that white conservatives have been keeping their opinions to themselves because the democrats would call them racist so I see a lot more nonsense from the democrats.

I have been listening to the college liberal groups and I do not respect them at all.

I think that Trump has a lot more going for him than the people give him credit for. The democrats and leftist liberals are throwing all kinds of slanderous slurs against him and his policiies.

I have to find the courage within myself to begin to speak up for the values and beliefs I have and I am not a bigot nor a racist.

I am so gratefull to have the internet to gather information for myself and form my own individual opinons.

I believe that Clinton should be arrested for treason and put in jail for her crimes against the silent majority which is finding its voice right now.

I feel the choice is clearly the lesser of two evils. Not liking our choice at all. However, I do not think Trump has the experience, I think he is a huge hothead, and he is so far removed from what the average American experience. Every time he opens his mouth it seems more negative judgements come out, such as being asked what he would want his daughter to do if she were sexually harassed at work. Now it is true, the media seems to just sensationalizing his ignorance. It feels like a bad episode of South Park! It is so bad that in the past week, I have had 5 people tell me they are not even voting and they have never missed voting in all their years. I am really afraid of either outcome, but fear Trump much more. Clinton may be a thief, but she is calm and much more competent in my opinion.

I'm curious, do you have a specific example of where she seems to have committed treason? What crimes are you talking about? I'm not saying I disagree. If there's enough evidence to convict her of treason, I definitely think she should be put on trial. But I've been hearing this stuff thrown around a lot, usually with nothing specific mentioned. It works great as inflammatory rhetoric, but I wonder what there is to back it up.

The email servers? Yeah, except, from what I've read, others have used their private email for state department business too. (Like Colin Powell) The deleted emails? Not sure that rises to the level of "treason". I suspect that, if we could read them, most of those emails contained nothing. Some of them probably contained remarks about others that were deemed too "straight forward" to be quoted. Kind of like the emails leaked during the Democratic convention. They probably call people names, you know? As some people do when they don't think they're being over heard. Does it speak well for them? No. Is it treason? I think not. What else has she done? No idea. Do I think she'll do what she can to support the "rich white folk" on Wall Street. Yep, sure do. But I think Trump will do the same. That's pretty much who he IS. He announced a bunch of his "economic advisers" yesterday. And they are.......male, rich, white, Wall Street types. So, I suspect we're looking at more of "What's good for Wall Street is good for America". I tend to disagree.

If Hillary Clinton has truly committed treason, and there's evidence to support it, do you really think she wouldn't be prosecuted? If you believe that, what evidence supports your belief?

So, I suspect we're looking at more of "What's good for Wall Street is good for America".
I agree, and I think that regardless of who is voted into office, ever, they will always end up catering to Wall Street. I know candidates go in claiming they're going to change the system, but the opposite is usually true -- the system changes them. I know a lot of people like Trump because he has this whole anti-establishment thing going, and for many that's refreshing, but I don't think it's anything more than a cheap gimmick. He wouldn't change the establishment at all. (And to be honest I don't really see how he is "anti-establishment" in the first place). While I don't trust Clinton, I think that she is at least familiar with the system and knows exactly what she's dealing with, so we wouldn't have to worry about her completely losing her cool. Trump, on the other hand, seems way too impulsive, hot-headed, self-aggrandizing, and what bothers me the most is that he never really seems to think about what he's saying. He just tosses slogans into the air that he thinks people will like, but he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. And when it comes to foreign affairs, I'm flabbergasted by his level of ignorance. It truly scares me. I think I'd be more accepting of him if I at least thought other members of his team were highly capable, but I don't. I honestly don't even think he took this campaign seriously himself when it first started. I feel like he was just curious how he'd do and wanted to have his ego stroked, so he randomly started this, partly just for fun .... and then somehow we got here. I don't think he really thought it through.

@scout86 great question, in response I think Clintons support of the ICC indictment of Gadafi in Libya and supplied weapons to those in Libya which led to to Clintons commiitted treason in Benghazi. I think the guns she supplied to Libya led to Benghazi.

After being warned about Benghazi Clinton failed to give assistance and thus I think this fail is worthy to be considered Treason as that was her job and she ignored it.

Then to furthor add insult to injury Clinton straight out lied to the parents and the mother of the ambassador was not given any information because she was told by whoever that the mother was not entitled to any information as she was not a close member of the family. She gave this information at the GOP convention. I for one believe her.

I support your right to disagree but I have had my fill of the direction she wants to take our country not to mention all of the above the law crimes she has gotten away with.

I believe that it is time to give an outsider a chance to be president for a change as I believe that Washington lifer insiders are so insulated and safe that they are out of touch with the common American person and concerns, I sure hope this answers your question.
