I am currently seeing a psychologist after being referred by VVCS. I called them out of desparation one day. Unfortunately a lot of the discussion groups that I think would be good for me are not at suitable times, all during the day and I can't afford to take time off work at the moment. I have mentioned this and hopefully in the future other times can be arranged.

My husband who is now ex army actually works for Veterans Affairs. I find it so hard to accept that he helps people all day with claims, entitlements etc, yet won't get help himself. To be honest I think his job is too much for him, he can cope with only that. By the time he gets home he is mentally exhausted, starts on the beer until he falls asleep and gets up and does it all again the next day. When I left he said he would look into VVCS and their programs when he was ready. I will just have to trust that he will.

Discarded he let you leave because he thinks that's what you want he only wants you to be happy and he is finding it hard to see that anyone could be happy with him because he sees himself as so damaged.

Hey guys just wanted to say a big thanks for your advice here and for helping me see an insight to the other side of the fence. I finally grew a set today and told my partner she is the one I admire the most in the world and she agreed that even she looks back and wonders how she was so strong to get through it all alone. My guess is simple, it's called love.

I honestly am starting to see that the things in our life that have the most potential to hurt us are also the things we can draw the most strength from. Stay strong guys it is worth it in the long run. On dark days remember the great days and on good days cherish each second of it.

Good luck and thanks again.
