It's funny....I hear a lot of people with PTSD say "everyone tells me I'm the strongest person they know". I think we're strong because we have to be, not necessarily because we want to be. I mean, we don't wake up one day and say "oh, I'm going to be strong!" KWIM?

I guess people don't realize that it's not something you choose, it's something that just is. Well, this is how I see it.

Not to lessen the fact that we are strong people, because I think we are. I just think that those on the outside see it a bit differently perhaps? Just a bit of ramblings here...

And welcome to the forum...You'll find a lot of wonderful people and great support!

I think that that feeling of weakness that won't go away is the thing that makes us work at being stronger. Is the silver medallist at the Olympics someone who is faster than almost everybody else? Or are they wishing they had been just a little bit faster?

I recently started thinking about 'degree of difficulty' when evaluating my own performance. It's made it a lot harder to maintain my negative self-image.

Hi Pixystyx and Welcome to the Forum. Take your time and get comfortable. There is a library of articles on the home page. Highly recommended reading. The best part of the forum is the mix of people who are willing to help and share. I wish you success in your journey to healing, it takes time.
