Good grief. I've been dealing with a LOT of physical pain for a long time and I finally figured out what it is. A few years back I was diagnosed at an Urgent Care with costochondritis. It's an inflammation of the cartilage connecting the rib to the sternum and it's VERY painful. None of my regular doctors have ever suggested that my main was from the costo, and so I guess I never really thought about it. But...the symptoms/pain are identical to what I'm experiencing. Sore rib cage, chest pain which sometimes radiates down both arms, mid-back pain, pain whenever I do anything that involves my chest muscles. Others, but these are the main ones.

Knowing doesn't take away the pain, but it sure does make me feel better emotionally. Lots of people on one of the forums I found have had the exact same problems I've had and doctors who don't understand anything about it. Now...to find one that does.

I realized clearly today how disruptive this pain is in my life. I can't do a lot of things that people do every day. Although costo comes and goes, mine has been around for about a year this time. Meds don't work, ice and heat do help intermittently, but I feel better only when it's actually applied.

I don't need the pain on top of everything else. I just don't.

I too live with pain. I'm so sad you're suffering too. It's exhausting and emotionally draining due to the invisibility of it sometimes. My cardiac and digestive systems are still undergoing invasive tests whilst I'm simultaneously working four ten hour shifts a week on site as a skilled labouror spending time with my children on the other days. If I get accused of being a drama queen one more time I shall try and eat another wooden box just to demonstrate how nonsensical the accusation is only this time maybe it won't get a chance to be fished out my mouth before I swallow. Basically I understand and respect how heavy a burden constant pain is to bear. Don't give up and fit in the odd rest day where you can to build strength or it'll burn you out fast.

I'm sorry you are also dealing with a lot of pain. I'm just now understanding the importance of really good, restorative rest. I'm going to have to change the way I do some things to get that.
