Could You Please Avoid Using Abbreviations And Acronyms

I have come across original posts recently that have had acronyms that I do not understand and can not make sense of easily, sometimes not at all. It is difficult and annoying to be surfing the web to check out what they could possibly mean. Then, I still sometimes have to guess because there is more than one meaning to choose from.

I would be very grateful if acronyms and abbreviations could be spelled out and suppose others, especially those who are not native English speakers, would be, too.

The reason I posted here in Chit Chat is that I sometimes don't get aware of news in 'Announcements' once it's gone from the list of posts on the 'Home' tab. I do not really remember to check 'Announcements' regularly for news, and the announcements are also not sent by PM to members (which is not criticism or anything, just a fact, i.e. they can be missed).

I guess now this thread is becoming a 'Help Desk' one...

I was just hoping that if it were a request in 'Chit Chat' from someone concerned, it might be a good reminder. So, no offense please, it wasn't meant to be one.

Yes, feel free to report any posts. You can also ask the poster with in the thread to explain their abbreviations.

As staff, we are working hard to resolve this issue, and trying to make people aware. ;)

I'll be more concious of this in the future. If I do it it is out of laziness or habit so I'll do my best to try to remember in future.

Prime-no, Please don't feel bad! I appreciate your reminder. I find I don't read certain posts due to confusion from this.

By the time you research you loose the post! I live in the US where we speak English. I will not shop in stores where they speak their native language.

I can't find employment because they only hire bilingual speaking people. You speak English very well. They live here and refuse. I understand every thing they say I just do not speak it.

I am glad that this is happening. I am weary of reading posts and not understanding what people are saying because of the abbreviations. I am grateful to the moderators working so hard to keep the forum running.

There have been several types of therapy mentioned, even one by Anthony I recall now, that were just a series of capitol letters in a row. I still do not know what one of them is, though I have seen it mentioned many a time! It starts with an E if I recall.
