We're supposed to pee in packs?!?!

Yeah, I get it, women go to the powder room to gossip and say what cannot necessarily be said at the table in the company of others. It would be awkward for me, too, as I don't do the female gossip thing. I don't have any female friends and MOST attempts to interact with females on a purely social level fall completely flat. Its odd though because I can chat with guys about most anything and have no issues. I definitely look feminine but I sure as heck don't feel feminine. I never have.

Did you use to have to provide explanations to people in the past? Who taught you to do so? Maybe if you evaluate the behavior, it will be easier to let it go.

umm.. yes. Always. My mom... If I didn't have an amusing antic dote about my day when I was in high school I was hiding something.

Both my ex's demanded explanations for everything from why I bought a fancy coffee to why I was going to be "early".

It's always been a thing. EXPLAIN YOURSELF. SMH.

Grrr... it's really annoying how our parent's nasty habits get stuck in our brain.
But well, you are aware of the fact that this is your mothers voice, the one who thinks that everything should be explained to everybody. It's not your voice. That might help taking some distance from the idea that you need to explain every thing.
