sometimes when i dissasociate i eventually notice that its much harder to hear and harder to see, and i feel dizzy like im going to pass out. my legs feel like jelly when i stand up i almost lose my balance. is this just part of dissociation for some people? or is it some other medical problem? my senses go back to normal when i come back from dissociation. i also feel like im acting wierd when im dissociated. probably because i am. do most people know whats going on when they see it in someone else, or do people just wonder what the hell is wrong with me today?

Panic can do that, dissociation can do that...

But Id still check it out with a neurologist just to be safe, and make sure its not something going on with your brain causing these states and dissc as a symptom to begin with.

As to people reactions... no worries if they spot it, ordinary people tend to care more than not ime. Its not like youre that rare/weird either, plenty people move odd or react weird and it can be as simple as a healthy joe having a bad day.

When my anxiety is running hot it feels like there’s a razor clawed vice gripping my heart. I know it’s anxiety, I’ve had it for years and years, but I still get my heart checked out by a cardiologist every year. Why? Because, even if it’s probably a psych symptom? You always always always want to rule out physiological causes, rather than assuming psych.

Yep. It’s just part of disassociation for some people, and for others it’s a serious medical problem. (Neurological, blood pressure, anemia, malnutrition, toxic exposure, asthma, etc.), and for some people it’s both.

So make an appointment with your GP for dizzy spells, they can run some basic tests and refer you into any specialist they think is warranted.

When I have a panic attack I can almost totally lose my vision. I can feel myself getting far away from my surroundings. It lasts less than a minute but it’s a dramatic physical effect of extreme anxiety. I also developed burning face syndrome where if my face was exposed to sunlight for even a few seconds my skin would feel on fire for days. When I went into trauma therapy it went away. It’s amazing what physical manifestations can result from emotional reactions. I guess it is all the same nervous system.

I used to feel like this at therapy when one of my old therapists was doing family systems. I would drive home and I'd think "I shouldn't be driving". I used to wait a little before I'd start driving to settle down. She was asking to talk to this part and that part always. I felt hypnotized. I'm gonna bring this up in therapy tomorrow. I used to like it because it felt like real therapy or shifting. Like I had got some "medicine.". That's how I used to think of it.
