Don't know where else to post this question? Have a concussion as a result of MVA. Besides the horrendous sounds bringing up PTSD symptoms, the others are acting uncharacteristically. Anyone been thru this?

Yes. And if you have specific questions I may be able to answer but it's really hard to remember. Ha. I know it was really rough for us. I am sorry you are going through that. Hang in there.

Apparently, our language has become more colorful too! I mean the words that are actually coming out of our mouth not that we just think!! Were all your insiders affected? Could you have one not affected or minimally affected take over? Getting scary.

Yes, I think there was one who wasn't affected or very minimally. Just like I think maybe one didn't fully loose consciousnesses when we fell down the stairs (head first on cement steps) but I also know we did lose consciousness. I remember someone giving us directions as we fell to keep things from getting worse. I also remember waking up. And I remember when *I* suddenly, with no transition was fully back to thinking well about 6 weeks I got the concussion. I remember being back. I guess that's why I have such a hard time remembering that time. :P

We have one whose responsibility has always been dealing with doctors, attending to medical procedures & the like. He's the one most affected. The one whose suppose be in charge of medical!! Now more adults are taking turns with lots of in between time for little ones.
Thankfully we are staying home. The medical one started having absence seizures but others can drive so we are not in danger or dangerous. How do nonDIDs manage?!!
Never realized concussions took so long to heal. Thought rest for a week...back to normal. After all saw athletes get up & continue to play.
My friends, who don't know my dx, act appalled by my new vocabulary then breakout in laughter!!
Oh a funny note..my doc was explaining how amazingly wonderful the brain is to one of our more adult alters. Luckily the words didn't pass our lips but we thought...it sure is let me tell you!
Thanks for responding.

Ha! I think I had a similar conversation with the doctor about how amazing the brain is. And yes, we found that funny. I am glad you are able to take care of yourselves. Maybe this is a good opportunity to learn more about each other?

Oh goodness, when we got a concussion we went into a spin. Alters were confused and switching all over the place. Our brain seemed to run really slow even though the switching was fast. It was a mess. It took 2 weeks before we started to get back to normal.

The gentlemen is out of service.
The executive is overthrown and lost his voice.
The caveman moved upstairs and enjoys his new space in cortex.
The child is running scared.
The scientist observes and refuses to share data to others.
The protector gets beatup by caveman and runs to protect child.
The romeo is a drunken mess.
My actual self is confused.

All except the scientist take turns volunteering as repair technicians on brain without a blueprint or manual. Sometimes they fix a neuron sometimes they just trial and errom. Caveman does all the scheduling.

I get very tired switching.
