I have been with my partner for 5 years. A few years ago he was assaulted and had a bad time afterwards, he was diagnosed with ptsd about 8 months later. He's had problems off and on since. Recently he witnessed something bad and this has made him ill again.
We don't live together (harsh as though it may sound, that's a good thing). It seems we're spending less and less time together and I'm wondering if we should carry on.
He's off work at the moment, I work full time shifts and have a lot of responsibilities at home and work. I get one day off a week, he says he'll ring me and we'll arrange to do something but a lot of the time he says he doesn't want to do anything or he feels like crap etc. This says to me that I don't make him feel better :-(
He's had 2 lots of emdr therapy and is on medication. I just can't see an end to this.
I feel like life is passing me by, I'm either at work or sitting home alone and I don't want that.
I feel selfish just writing this, like it's all about me but believe me I've tried everything I can think of and I don't know what to do for the best. I wonder if we split up that he'd meet someone else who could make him happy, give him a new lease of life etc.
Any thoughts, opinions etc greatly received. xx

I think the fact that you posted speaks volumes. I think you already know in your heart what you want, but maybe looking for others to validate you....

No one here can tell you what to do, you need to make the choice that's best for you!!!! Always remember this.... Everyone needs to take care of themselves. Sufferers and those with PTSD.
