Oh hey definitely, I have The Best of Taste :)

I don't need to see better and it's the weekend- thinking is optional, lol

Junebug want to use us as her personal pair of full-spectrum beer goggles Jawn! HA!

Might as well throw 3D in the mix as well....:)

Yes, I see black and white in alot of things. I work in a black and white world, everything is made to suit a set of requirements and either fit or don't. The metals come into the shop as raw material, and leave as scrap that doesn't pay or as parts that do pay.

My actions in life either add to the positive aspects of it or cause more destructive suffering and pain. Staying home being safe from traffic and social interaction is a positive, venturing out and having my life threatened by maniacal drivers and being forced to interact with people that are rude and unbearable is a negative.

Am I wrong? Isn't a nice quiet evening at home the reward for the hard day at work? I endure the negative only because it allows me the positive. Thats about as black and white as it gets, isn't it?

just me here, I hear you.

I think, for me, as you have described the 'black or white' thinking/ expected attitudes and outcomes, are sort of predictable (or so it seems), and therefore 'safe' by virtue of feeling like we have some idea or say in what to expect.

I hope however that you have the experience of being surprised by something happy and healing and unexpected- something 'out of the grey'.

I find this hard to answer. I guess it depends on what is at hand. Most things are gray. I almost wish they were more black and white. That they were clearer. Sometimes I just miss having SOMEONE to be angry at. When everything is the colour gray there is noone or too many.

I didn't realize that my black/white way of thinking really meant anything until my therapist mentioned it. Its kind of how I've always been, atleast what I remember.

Black and white thinking in my opinion is a result of being 'programmed' as a child that there is only right or wrong...no allowance for error, difference of opinion or variation (eg being able to complete the same task but do it a different way). Well, that was my experience and it took a lot of practise to un-train those embedded thought processes.

My black and white thinking usually runs along the line of statements that include: always/never, everyone/noone. Exaggerating things, broad sweeping generalizations.

I agree Nicolette. There are so many ways to accomplish the same things, this is part of the fun, to see what's different in all of us.

lol, this is something I have been told over and over that my thinking is black and white. So I guess this is a big yes :)

I recently learn this from my T, I did not realize I do suffered from Black and White thinking. Even I am still learning I am still have hard time get full concept of black and white thinking. But my T is start to point me when T can catch when I am doing the black and white thinking to help me get it. Yes I am one of the suffering of this thinking
