General Do you think everybody (including those without ptsd) would benefit from CBT?

I discussed this question with my vet and he does think that everybody including those without ptsd would benefit from CBT, from having a therapist or CBTing yourself so to speak... cause the idea of CBT... as he sees it... is that it is always easier to do the wrong thing (thing that is bad for you or others) than the right thing.
Did you (as a sufferer) include CBT into areas of your life not related to ptsd? Did you as a supporter learn from CBT?

CBT is not exclusive to PTSD.
I actually used CBT for psychosis at first, as it is considered the first line of therapy for it with great results and I can attest to that.

Other people I know without major mental health issues have used CBT for various purposes.

I learned and practice CBT for my own mental health issues, and it's actually really improved the way I interact with and move through life. I learned it over 20 years ago at this point, and I have used it regularly ever since. I still suffer from anxiety and major depression, but I have the best results when I am both medicated and regularly practicing CBT. I can actually tell when I have been slipping into old thought patterns, because my anxiety and depression ramp up. It's also a huge part in my current path of unraveling my codependent tendencies (and realizing that they cropped up because I wasn't applying what I knew for being able to regulate only my own behavior).

However, I don't see it as a doing the "wrong" thing vs the "right" thing. It's a way to challenge and change how you think about the world; in fact, I'd say it's lessened my sense of "my way is the right way," and allowed me to see and at least accept (if not understand) the whys and hows of how other people do things (or the whys and hows of the world in general). I became a lot LESS judgmental and rigid in my thinking through it.
