I agree with Iam, the mind reveals what it feels you are ready to deal with when and if the time is right. I didn't like that at first, I wanted answer fast and tried to push it but in all actuality it was way more than I was cable to handle. Even now, years later connecting feelings to another trauma in my preteens is far more difficult than it would seem to be but it has become to take it's toll.
When the trauma has taken place as a child the emotions that erupt are childlike and as an adult is quite difficult to personify those emotions, to live them, breathe, them, act them out safely. One session a week in a presumingly safe environment is hardly enough to carry one through the week with raw emotion and feelings of aloneness. Sometimes it's good to get a new start to be around people that don't know you and see you as you as are. But that's just me. We all need to do things our own way. I believe in exposure therapy, I just don't feel I need to use to use a brick to beat myself with when I know ready.
