Thank you to everyone who has responded. Jim and I are quite astonished (in a good way!) at the number of positive responses and wishes we have received in this thread. It certainly does help to know others are thinking of us.
With Evie's condition, as with any serious illness, nothing ever goes smoothly or as planned. Complications do arise; it is the nature of the beast unfortunately. Yes it is difficult, however we are well prepared. We have gone through this with her once before. Additionally, I have neglected to say so publicly, but I am a cancer survivor myself. I had breast cancer 11 years ago, now considered cured. So I have some personal understanding of what Evie is going through, though her condition is very different from what mine was, more painful and more severe to be frank. However I do understand the feelings she is experiencing. Having had cancer myself I have the opportunity to speak frankly with her, and I have empathy for her moodiness as well, as I was the same way. Jim also, having dealt with my cancer, has more of an understanding of Evie's as well. We are well equipped, have no doubts.
Evie seems a bit better this morning, she is keeping food down and her fever has broke. She surprised us by hugging us both. She is seldom if ever the "initiator" in hugs so we were quite touched by it.
Not certain about Jim, but I may be offline for a couple of days now, as I am getting Jacob ready for school and it is quite time consuming, getting all his supplies, enrolling him in football, getting him registered at the school and so on. I hope to have everything organized by the end of this week. Best wishes all and take good care.
