Hello all
I have had about 6 sessions of emdr now which has brought up lots of childhood memories which I am finding upsetting. In between sessions I am finding it hard to manage everyday life due to feeling tense, angry, sad, anxious and overwhelmed.
After reading around I am wondering if my therapist is closing the sessions well enough, or if I am just having a normal reaction to uncovering childhood trauma. I haven't been using any emdr 'tools' in between sessions either as I didn't know I was supposed to be really! Not sure if I forgot I was meant to be doing this - my mind is so hazy recently.
I would really like to know if your therapist has a set script or process they follow each week once the emdr eye movement sets are done and if so, what it is. Thanks so much.
