Hi there,
I've been with my partner about a year.... we each have some baggage that we're dealing with, his is a childhood that has left him with PTSD. We talked about our respective histories within our first few dates, so I knew what he was dealing with early on, and had an idea of some of the challenges that might crop up, but there's a difference between theoretically knowing about PTSD, and being there and loving someone who has PTSD.
My partner is really private about what he has experienced, and its impact/symptoms, so I haven't spoken to my friends/family - but sometimes that feels lonely/hard... guess I'm trying to find a place to talk, ask questions, understand more, and get some support myself.
Thanks in advance.
K
