Oh my goodness! I thought of it as a fun activity similar to how people accessorize their dogs and cats. What you've described makes perfect, practical sense. :)

From what you shared about the reason for an apron, I don't think I'd be able to breed my chickens if I had any. I saw horses engaging in that activity one time and I still wince and feel a little ill. Maybe I should just look at cute pictures and watch P. Allen Smith for the time being. :)

Oh, I love it, @Tornadic Thoughts, that was wonderful to watch! They are wonderful creatures and even the ones I can't pet have their individual personality.

Oh no! Corn Flakes broke her toe! I found her hanging upside down with her toe caught in a wire frame. It is so swollen today. She is with her friend in the fenced area so none of the other chickens can get to her. She has aspirin water and lots of healthy food, and a sparkling clean coop, so I hope she doesn't get infected from the cut on the top of her foot. Poor girl.

Ohhh no... sending good healing energy to Corn Flakes!! Poor baby, I know you were upset when you saw her. But she has the best Chicken Mama ever, so she has excellent care. Hugs to you and Corn Flakes!!

Thanks, @ladee, I was so upset. She will get the best care I can give her. I'm glad she had a best friend, that calmed her down quite a bit.

Poor little girl. I know she was scared and confused. I'm happy too she has her best chicken friend with her too.. keep us updated. And special hugs to you for what all you were feeling while taking care of her. It's not easy being a Chicken Mama... and I know she will get excellent care and attention!
