Full-time Rv Living?

So - RV is Road Vehicle? Residential Vehicle?
Here a mobile home needs transporting on the back of a lorr...

Recreational Vehicle, actually.

There are a lot of definitions to what mobile home means in the USA too. A lot of the Motor Homes are actually considered a "second home" and can even be registered as that. There are a lot of insurance companies, including mine, that insure them as basically.. moving houses. Motor Homes of the Class B and Class A are more like ton and a half trucks with homes on them, much more than just a van.. like that of the Class C.

No, not necessarily. There are places that parking it won't be questioned for any amount of time, certain lots are safer than others. But you can practically stay there as long as you're entirely self contained/not messy. I looked for a manual motor home and they are excessively rare. I guess people in America don't want to "work" getting a one ton vehicle moving. Might get ten miles to the gallon on most of these ton and a half v8 vehicles, a little less if you're in traffic. The plus is also my mother is going to be staying in it with me, so she can sort of 'watch the house' while I'm not there. But I am not leaving valuables in it at any time, my car with its one way trunk is safest.

There are a few places in my area that do rent spaces for motor homes, BUT they don't do it over the winter. And their rates around about 800 usd a month to 1500 usd a month. So why bother staying at one if you're not breaking the law by staying at a parking lot from time to time? There is also a place not so local to me that provides year round sites/living for a flat rate of 500 usd a month. Once I am debt free, I do plan on having a good look at them.

The Class A I'm looking at has a shower and potty, if I'm so inclined I'll use them.. but I do have other places to take showers and use a toilet. There are a ton of local 'waste' sites that you pay 10 usd to empty your waste tank and refill your fresh water tank (given, I wouldn't refill it with water until cold weather is done). There are waste treatment plants that will have you dump for free.

We are tossing around the idea of living in our travel trailer and hitting the road 4 to 6 months out of the year. Here are the questions we have been dealing with that might give you more food for thought.
  1. Where will you receive mail? POST office Box is the logical choice if you are remaining in one area. But, when one the road???
  2. Banking? Again if in one area not a problem.
  3. Internet? We use our a mobile hot spot through our phone carrier.
  4. Water and electric? Free places do not have hookups, and not everything functions on propain, and batteries don't last without being charged.
It really is an appealing life style, and I wish you the best.

The 2008 GFC forced a sizable number of Americans to consider the RV or TinyHome lifestyle and the trend has actually gathered steam since 2008. There are thousands of sites all over the world where people are explaining what they are doing and why.

When the Global Economy collapses again, this lifestyle will become much much more common.
The ones who have already made the shift will do well, the others are in for a very bumpy ride indeed.

I've read millions of people RV full time. I've sold my house and currently thinking of getting a pull behind. For me, I am most calm in nature with no one around. My Dutch husky doesn't count as he's my pup.
