When I was getting my Golden Retriever ready for Pet Therapy a friend, who worked at the local Phyciatric hospital, suggested that I bring him into her work to get used to the sounds & smells. What a great plan thought I. Anyways sometime later, he & I are on the hospital elevator and a lady in hospital scrubs gets on. These days everybody wears them so you really cant tell who's the cleaning staff & who's the brain surgeon. She smiles both of us & asks why Jar, my dog, is in the hospital. Without hesitation, I said he has ADHD, it's a common thing in Goldens. She smiled & said "I'm so glad the hospital is able to treat him." The elevator stopped & she got off. I figure to this day she honestly thinks that dogs are being treated for ADHD at the local Physc hospital.
In case you're wondering why my dog is named Jar, it's short for Jarhead. He was so dumb, loyal & tenacious as a puppy that he reminded me of all the Marines I'd met.
