Getting Surgery For Anxiety Producing Pain

Lo and behold a CT scan and such diagnosed severe arthritis, two protruding dics, etc. Amazes me my tolerance to pain...CM

Thanks very much for this post, CM. Arthritis and the over-use I subjected my body to are very much on my mind these days. My low-invasive surgery was really a complete success, and the titanium "pivots" used to fix the stenosis have seemingly improved my lumbar. It's strong, still flexible. If sciatica is an issue, I urge everyone to consider getting an MRI and talking to an experienced neurosurgeon. The main reason being that the sciatica (from the bulge in my disks) did a lot of damage to my leg muscles, resulting in myofascial adhesions; Myofascial Pain Syndrome, and the atrophy resulted in tendonitis of the groin.

I guess it'll take a year to correct this. Am working the muscle adhesions with 6"x36" and 6"x18" foam rollers, but it's hard, about 9 out of 10 on the pain scale. I am so terribly saddened by the damage done to my body from all the anxiety driven over-use I put it though. It is a very painful realization for me. Glad you are enjoying the swimming, water is good for me too.

Hi James, I'm so glad your surgery went so well and you are feeling so much better physically! It made me happy to read that.
