Going For A Biopsy Today: Feeling Very Anxious

I am going for a biopsy today which comes from a mammogram and ultra sound that I had on Monday. I feel really anxious and scared. There is a history of breast cancer in my family that means I am a little worried and concerned.

I was feeling scared last night as well I had trouble going to sleep.

Sending good vibes and strength your way. I have a friend who is a breast reconstructive surgeon. She says that 20% or less of all biopsies end up positive. That means 80% are negative. They are overly cautious in taking samples as not to miss anything. It is good that you are getting it behind you!!! Hope you can take a deep breath and not stress too much. Treat yourself to some good food afterwards!!!!

It is very scary. Not only the procedure and worry over possible pain but the wait for results. I have been there, I know.

I was terrified too when in my 20's and 50's I found lumps. My mom had breast cancer. Both mine were benign.

No matter what happens, you will get thru it. I'll be so glad when you have the results. It's the not knowing that can make you crazy.
