We were just remembering our Thanksgiving in VN Wednesday in group. The concocksions we put together that only needed a bit of hotsauce to carry it over to 'bareable". Amazing (Except the Lima Beans and Ham)

In 1965 The USS Navarro (APA 215) was briefly where we hung our hat as we awaited a barracks barge (APL-30). I have little recollection of the event but it must gave been good since I saved the menu. Todays cholesterol Police would shut the joint down!

Still the only opener I use and for some strange reason I have one on my keyring with my car and house keys. My misses hates them LMAO

I still have mine on my key ring I got at my first command back in '87 or '88. We were issued one when we joined the anti/counter terrorist team. Kept me from going hungry many times. I have no problem eating stuff cold out of the can.

Same here, hanging on my keyring. Ba, great post. Everyone bitches about the ham and lima beans. I think they were a communist plot to demoralize our forces.

But canned peaches saved us all.....I would hold them up to the sky like mannah from heaven. The bowels will move today. Thank you, Lord. And then plunge that survival knife right through the side of those peaches, flip that lid, and suck that can dry.
