Hating Others Makes It Harder To Face My Own Reality

I mean its as though I am not in the current reality because my mind keeps going back to the past.

That is PTSD in a nutshell. I think you will get lots of different suggestions of things that may help. They are all good suggestions, because one thing helps one person and another thing will help someone else. You kind of have to try things, and if it doesn't suit you, then try something else.

I have found that trying not to feel anger, keeps it stuck. To accept that you are angry, not just pissed off, but feeling primal rage, hatred, anger at the fact that something horrific has happened, stops you fighting it. To accept it, doesn't mean to think it's ok to take it out on people (it's not). It is about accepting that that feeling is within you, and that you are allowed to feel it and it's yours to release.

There is something called primal scream therapy (it's a bit new age and not really a therapy), but they suggest standing somewhere isolated, and just letting yourself scream/shout out right from your belly, as loud and uninhibited as you can. I don't have anywhere that isolated near me. But I can do it in the car, driving along country roads. And when I feel a need to do it, I feel it as such a powerful release. It makes me realise that it's not a pressure to be kept inside. That's my way of emptying my mind of those feelings.
