Hello: Carer Frustrated With SO's Health Care Providers

The 72 hour stay should give you some time to relax and take care of you. His current female doctor sounds way out of line in my opinion. I have had to take lots of different medications to find out the ones that work for me. Someone just randomly giving meds that react with others you are taken should have been picked up by the pharmacist filling them. A call to them might help you understand if the meds might be causing some of his symptoms.

My husband has to take heart medication and found out that certain antidepressants caused bad side effects. Everyones tolerance to meds are different, I know, but if he is lying about sleep to get sleep meds, he may be mixing things with his drinking that would cause problems. Being an addict can also cause violent behavior.

I agree with keeping a log of things his so called doctor is saying and doing. If she is working for the VA, keeping records of her behavior will either get her canned (so she doesn't hurt someone else) or straighten out her unprofessional behavior. I am a vet and would never put up with that kind of crap!!

Hang in there and keep you safe...keep up updated OK?

Feeling Helpless And Hopeless

I don't know if it's because of all the stress of living with my SO or him being on 72 hr observation but I'm feeling like there's nothing I can do for him anymore.

It's like I've been beating my head against a wall for years now. How do I deal with him, me , and us feeling this way?
