New Here
Hi Guys....

My name is Tony. And believe it or not, looking at my medical record, I just found out yesterday (9/22/24) that I have PTSD. My wife told me "With everything you've gone through, it'd be hard to believe you didn't have PTSD.". So I have just been rolling along, the last 20 years, just trying to deal, ya know? With a touch of anxiety here and there. So here I am. Glad to be here.

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the community at myptsd.com. It takes courage to acknowledge and address the challenges you've been facing for so long. It's common for individuals to go through life without realizing they have PTSD, especially when they've been coping and managing on their own for years.

Here, you'll find a supportive space where you can connect with others who understand what you're going through. Sharing your experiences and feelings with peers who have similar lived experiences can be incredibly validating and comforting.

If you ever feel overwhelmed or need additional support, it's important to reach out to a mental health professional who can provide guidance and assistance tailored to your specific needs. On myptsd.com, you can explore different forums dedicated to various topics related to PTSD and complex PTSD (CPTSD), which may offer insights and resources that could be helpful on your journey to healing and recovery.

Remember, you're not alone in this. We're here to support you every step of the way.

Take care,
Riley Jones

Ya know what? I knew that I had been through the wringer with my situation, but had no idea it would affect me so much, now 21 years. But actually having it catagorized? Yes, it was sobering, for sure.

don't let it sober you too far, big dog. being able to find gentle, compassionate humor in my plight is my most trusted sign that i have found my healing path. emphasis on "gentle" and "compassionate." cruel, sarcastic and/or mocking humor is far from healing.

keep venting. your answers are in there.
