Hello...new Here...non Mpd Dissociation ( Going In Head Kind Not Out Of Body Kind)

I never realized how much i did it....its alot...how im trying to stop is to be aware of my breathing...which helps in some ways but not all. Also not dissociating makes me tired ; i just watched a movie for the first time without dissociating at all (im 42) and had to take a nap after!
Any suggestions, advice would be much appreciated
 
@Zoogal, MPD (multiple personality disorder) was what DID (disassociation identity disorder) used to be called. Since DID is the extreme outward edge of the spectrum, pretty much everything short of that in the disassociation spectrum.

@Robynd516 Grounding & Practice! Staying present for longer and longer periods of time, more and more often, is the best I know :) And, yep! Pickin things that hold your attention, and push your own boundaries? Exactly it.

Heyyy ya sometimes i feel myself going in but sometimes i dont n wont til i come back in body ...n sometimes hours have passed . Its like im in a kinda blackout n wont remember

Thanx:) yes ...for the 1st time for me....started a few months ago twice a week...last week is when everything started clicking after therapist read me deacription of emotional neglect n abuse. I had no idea...but apparantly based on how i am he saw it ...when he read me it ( he didnt say what it was even) i just lost it n knew this was the key. So ive been de-programming really from all the brainwashing
Im not sure about this process ...one minute im so optimistic then the next im PRAYING for strength not to kill my adopted narc mom n her enabler my adoptive dad aka narcs weapon of choice! Ha!
So any experiences , tips, etc would be so appreciated

I don't think it's pathetic. You've done something you were previously unable, that's good.

When on a journey from one place to another.
Which is more important. The first step towards your destination , or the last step as you arrive?
 
Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Therapy twice a week is pretty intense; you'll improve faster, but you'll be tired a lot.

Other than that, I guess 'read other threads' is something that helps me. There's a lot of stuff that can help you work out what your questions are, as well as a lot of potentially useful answers.
