Supporter Help Needed Please!!

As a parent, nothing is harder than seeing our children struggle and hurt. You are already doing something really important by being there to listen and validate your children. It is a precarious balancing act with young adult children, as while they are legally adults, they still need the support of a parent. One thing to keep in mind is the importance of taking care of yourself as helping and supporting can take a mental and emotional toll. I hope you find this site and the support here helpful.

I am a sufferer, but I really dont know how to be helped...

Every person is different.

It's good you are there for them. I guess asking might be the best way to find out whats right?

Welcome to the forum. Your children are fortunate to have you. Since my dad found out what happened to me (severe physical, sexual, emotional, and ritual abuse when my mom was supposed to be having her share of joint custody but instead would dump me off with her parents), he has been the most amazing support. Unconditional love that he reminds me of daily. Always an open ear. Believing me. Encouraging me to keep going to therapy. Reminding me to have fun. Doing things with me. Telling me he believes I will heal. I couldn't possibly do this journey without him. You sound like that's how you'll be for your kids. It warms my heart. If you ever have questions you think an adult with an amazing dad could answer for you, feel free to ask on the boards or through private message.
