I think you can think about the fact that the stress of moving is temporary and the stress of staying where you are at could be lasting.
You could also plan the move out and sell a lot of things so you do not have to move it all.
In a new city, you can find access to more therapy options and therapists to choose from. Don't give up on this, a good therapist could make a huge difference.

If the point at which your stress cup is first over-flowing on any given day is as soon as you wake up? That’s when you start your self-soothing.

I spent several years where, not long after I woke up each day, my first thoughts for the day were about whether I would suicide or not that day. And that’s where the self-care needed to change. Right from that moment in the morning. I had to change the routine, right from the moment I first woke up.

For me? I got a dog. Very quickly, my first thought in the day became about my dog, who was there wagging his happy little tail ready to go for a walk. Ever since? My morning routine has focused around my dog. Having a play, going to the dog park, fixing him brekky, getting him settled. That made a huge difference to the rest of the day, because every morning the very first thing I do is bring my stress levels down by engaging with my dog.

That’s not to say that you should get a dog. But maybe, recognise that thw problem is not so much dealing woth being afraid of a million different things, but the fact that you’re emotionally overwhelmed, period. What can you change

These are all excellent ideas, and I thank you. When you moved to a bigger city, did the move initially aggravate the PTSD, it’s a concern of mine. I know long term it would likely help, but short term my common sense tells me the stressors might cause trouble, but I’ve got no experience to draw on.

these are fantastic points, especially since it seems staying in a small town where nothing changes means I cannot change and recover. I certainly don’t mind continuing to downsize either.

It’s funny, many acquaintances have suggested a pet although given I’m considering a move to a bigger city the timing does not seem right. But emotionally overwhelmed in the am yes. Because I used to,be able to work, and in a busy challenging profession starting early am. Hence the terror in the am. I’m going to try to get up, shower, and go for a walk inside a shopping mall in the am. It wil provide visual, distraction, and exercise. Then, I think I’ll be able to,go,back,to my home and do the paperwork, pay bills, make calls etc. it’s a test to see if it works, but I’ve got nothing to lose. Everything else has failed.

I’m extremely grateful for the suggestions, I’ve tried breathing exercises, but I will revisit them and review the link. I so appreciate your time.

I really need help or advice. I’ve been to many therapists, finally one figured out it was ptsd in ten...
I get really scared too. Sometimes i feel paralyzed, as if when i move I'll be seen by whatever it is im afraid of. It helps to talk yourself down. In an assertive, confident voice, tell yourself to do things and reassure yourself you're gonna be alright. As you go, you can take it step by step, (e.g. "please turn on the shower. Okay, good job. Now get in the shower.") I know that helps me when i have panic attacks at work and i have to get through the day. You can do this! We're all here for you!

I cannot say if it will be better or worse for you time will tell. Just remember that where ever you are you take your issues with you. A geographical change can improve your environment but things like fear and anxiety will still be with you.
