I've switched books and have gone with The Beach House by Jane Green - it makes me smile and it was FREE:D, which helps with the budget. I saw the union man yesterday and he is making a cae for me to be on full pay whilst off ill, I am due to drop down to 50%, however company is claiming loss of earnings from the insurance of the guy who caused the crash

I have an especially hard time with dentists too so reading this touched me deeply. My thoughts are with you. I don't have anything to add except I'm thinking about you and my heart goes out to you.

Thank you, I have just finished downloading fav music and a couple of chapter of book. My dentist is a really sweet guy, he's even given me his home number and mobile in case I get too stressy.
Your support is much appreciated

Ok, I'm off to get ready for the big day. No more computer, it makes me think and I stay on way to lone.

So, this is the cunning plan. H is away until tomorrow night. I'm going to tackle the dishes in the sink.
Then I'm going to watch a TV programme which I have recorded - Upstairs, Downstairs (oh no Mr Hudson!!), sorry that is probably a Brit thing.
Then a glass of wine and a homemade chicken curry.
Then a bit more nice TV.
Hopefully I'll then be sleepy and crash into bed with the dogs.
Then sleep

Many thanks for all the support and messages.
Love

I DID IT:D

Ok the cunning plan didn't quite work out. It was fine until this morning, I slept OK, better than I thought I would. Was up at 7am, unheard of. Was showered, dressed in dog walking clothes, and had had coffee and breakfast. I'd allowed plenty of time so set off in the car to take dogs for a walk.

Start car, pull off and there was the most awful sound of metal ginding on metal. I stopped, pulled off again and the same thing. I sat there, I was shaking like a leaf, didn't know what was wrong but that sound had me back in the car after my accident. Gee, great timing, I'm trying to keep stress levels down and have a major trigger. I drove to my garage, and the owner, who knows me well, had a look at it for me.

I took the dogs over to the playing fields for their walk and then back to the garage. Luckily it was only a stone which had attached itself somewhere and was grating every time the wheel turned.

So shaking and panicking I head off on the 40 min drive. Music soothed me. The dentist was lovely, explained what would happen, he gave me my local anaesthetic and said that when I came back into the surgery it would be set up and sterile. Went to waiting room and listened to some of my book, parctised breathing and grounding techniques.

OK, show time. It was fine, I was very tense and pleased I'd put a heat pad on my neck. It took about and hour and I coped.

Pleased to be home, taking painkillers in preparation for the local to wear off.

Thank you to everyone who supported me it helped loads

Love

(((((((((((((((((Kath))))))))))))))!!!!

I am so thrilled for you!!!!
Great job!!!!!!
Fantastic recovery from the stone/car trigger - it was great that they could help you at the garage and that you could walk the dogs and recover a bit with them, while the owner was checking out your car.

Your dentist is wonderful! You prepared yourself so beautifully, and he did, too! Good idea to use the heat pad on your neck...
I'm glad he could do it in 1 hour, instead of the 2 hrs. Your next time will be even easier, I'd guess, and hope.

I'm glad you made it home ok, and you are so smart to be already starting the painkillers now!

It was an adventure, challenging, frightening, but healing and a real accomplishment!!! I hope you are incredibly proud of yourself! You deserve cheers, a brass band marching past your house with confetti, certainly a good nap and maybe a funny movie or book... something to really treat, nurture and soothe your spirit! I am so thrilled for you, Kath!!! You made it!!!!

Hooray!!!!

So grateful to hear all went well! About peed my pants when you wrote about the grounding sound, yikes, been there :( You handled it like a pro and went forward with your plan intact. Way to go!

Glad to hear you are home safe and sound. Thanks for the update.

I am about to have dental work after not having gone to the dentist in ~15 years. All my wisdom teeth have to come out, a cavity needs filled, and another cavity either needs fill or a root canal. I HAVE having people/things in my mouth. Even brushing my teeth I dry heave.

It's nice to know that it's possible to get through it.

You can get through it. I have another lot in Feb.

Tell your dentist how you feel before the appointment. I did with mine and he was really sweet, allowing me to have a break if I needed it and telling me what he would be doing next and asking if that was OK.

I put an audio book on my iPod and some favourite music. I actually didn't use them during the procedure but it did help to calm me prior.

Let me know how it goes
