Hi. I'm Sarah. Late 20s, female. I live in the UK.

We have dissociative identity disorder. Survivor of (ongoing) SRA.

We are a poly-fragmented system and we are currently undergoing therapy to try and be able to work together. We have 100+ alters of varying ages and genders and some nonhuman.

We've been under MH services for 16+ years, had a lot of difficulties and hospital admissions.

We struggle with a lot of symptoms and a long list of triggers.

Hoping to get some support here and also offer support to others if we can!

Hi @Sarahlou611 - and welcome. I edited your trigger warning (@Cashew explained it well). I'm glad you found the forum, and hope you can get support here. I'm curious - do you also have a PTSD diagnosis, or DID only?

Thanks. That's good to know re trigger warnings. I wasn't sure.

DID is the main diagnosis that we have, but we were first diagnosed with PTSD. DID is a form of ptsd... I'm not really sure!

They're two different things, PTSD and D.I.D., that can come from the same cause, being trauma. ;)

I guess they are. They both come from trauma. I have been told that they are different, and that the are the same by different people.

PTSD can have highly dissociative features, and depending what is one's primary trauma, can also present in rather D.I.D.-esque ways, though they are distinct, and further research into the two is still being done. ;)
