Sufferer Hi From Ohio

Diagnosed eight years ago with Bipolar Disorder. I did not tell him about all the incest and rapes, but then again he didn't ask. Got a new doctor, my therapist, the people in the hospital, and outpatient telling me no, you're not bipolar. It's PTSD. The symptoms are actually very similar.

Molested by a sadistic uncle until 10 (during which time I was molested once by a female neighbor), forcibly raped by stepfather at 13 (and beaten by him on a regular basis until I was 19), forcibly raped by boyfriend at 22, date-raped at 24 & 26, raped while passed out 27. More attempted rapes and harassment than I even ever think about.

Welcome! I am a new member as of last night but already I feel supported and like people understand where I am coming from and where I am at in my life right now. I have already had people give me helpful advice and insights. I hope the same happens for you and that you find what you are looking for on here. I'm sorry about all your pain. Welcome! I was also surprised at a new diagnosis after 8 years. I was first angry at the theripst than angry at myself for not telling all. After being on here a short I feel I am where I need to be. I am happy to have found the forum and hope you take advantage of all it has to offer!

I not a therapist, but I am taking a parenting class and have taken Psychology college courses...it looks like you have suffered so much trauma, you probably do have PTSD. I feel for you and hope so much that you have a great therapist who really cares to help you find a way to heal your wounds.
