New Here
Haven't found a good place to be yet so hoping I'll be welcome here.

I am comfort have no dx but know I have PTSD DID and RAD for 20 years I have suffred but knew nothing till now.

Hi Comfort

Welcome to the forum.

You are very welcome here as are all sufferers and carers. Feel free to ask questions for anything you want to know, and read all you can across the forum.

Take your time with everything as there is no rush to post anything you are not ready for.

I would advise you to get a professional diagnosis though, as self diagnosis is not advisable for anyone. It is a difficult illness to deal with as it is, and getting it right in the beginning does help in dealing with all it entails.

In the mean time you are still welcome here, to learn all you can to move forward with everything.

Good luck and take care.

Amethist

This forum is a very good place to talk and look around. The people here are very welcoming and supportive. :)

I agree with Amethist about getting a proper diagnosis. Seeing a therapist will probably help you feel better as well.

Welcome to the Forum Comfort!!

This is a great place to be for people suffering from PTSD/C-PTSD who are looking for information, support and healing.

I also agree with Amethist that you consider getting a bona fide diagnosis so that you know exactly what you are dealing with.

Good luck!

Johnny

Hi Comfort. I'm new here too. I can understand how you feel about seeking help because I was misdiagnosed for many years. PTSD can be tough to diagnose even for a professional. I contributed to the problem by not seeking help until I had strong suicidal ideation. It was natural for a diagnosis of depression to be made.

Hey, new here too, have alot to do again today. In survivor mode I am, will post my story later. When I can find a way to do a condensed version. By the way just so all of you know. I have had many years NOT in Ptsdish mode. IT is bliss and it is possible. The things I did were: took alot of vitamns, b complex is great!
Did meditation and yoga. Took and still take two baths a day, really hot ones. Went to church, pray when I remember to lol.
Founded and went to codependency meetings as this is my core issue problem. Step one I am powerless over people and my life has bcome unmanageable.
I was a co- founder of one of the first CODA meetings in Canada in 1988, I left those meetings for very good reasons.
Did all kinds of therapy that helped alot. Sued my abusers. I do not know if that helped? I won which gave me some closure sort of. hugs.

Welcome to the board. Based on your post, I can't tell if you have gotten a professional diagnosis. If not, I encourage you to do so. For one thing, it will be a relief to know for certain what's going on. You'll find much information and understanding here. Search and post as you feel comfortable, and once again, thanks for joining!

Hi Comfort and welcome to the forum. I would also recommend (as others already have) that you get a formal diagnosis. I have just recently been diagnosed with C-PTSD and DID so ask lots of questions if you can but definitely get a professional diagnosis if you can...
