Holy #*+!, I Feel Mildly Electrocuted

The whole body electrical feelings are better for me. But it's when it feels stuck in places that I feel closer to wanting to self destruct somehow. Lately my left arm and hand have been shaky, especially in therapy. So instead of cutting, that's the arm I sometimes wrap up and protect. Sort of a side topic, but I have noticed the cutting urges are mixed up self protective urges in me (like I couldn't hurt the other person long ago so it got directed at me, because my body was feeling all that discomfort).

Does anyone else relate to this sort of electrical energy (deep jittery, buzzing...really fast "zzzzzzzzz" all over my body)...and what helps???
Yes. That happened to me after a somatic experiencing session where I worked on an early trauma and breathed with it. I went home feeling as if my hands and feet had been placed in an electric socket, and the feeling went on for over a week every time I took a deep breath in.

I missed this when you first posted. How long did it take for you for the feeling to get better? I thought it was adrenaline, but now you ask, I'm thinking that maybe the buzzing feeling has to do with bringing breath into a feeling that has previously been frozen, does that seem right to you?

Hi
Yes I often get that feeling !! I try to burn it off walking and swimming progressive muscle relaxation. It is when you are stuck somewhere with other people and it happens and the twitching and buzzing starts that it is uncomfortable what do you do then ?

I've had this problem off and on as long as I can remember (mostly on...pffft). It's gotten worse lately, like nearly every day, making it hard to breathe cause the energy is so intense. Breathing exercises actually make it worse.

Sometimes just a tiny bit of caffeine actually makes it better. I'm not addicted to caffeine--I know 'cause I don't drink that much of it and often go days and days without any. But when that energy-stress gets at its worst, a tiny-tiny-tiny bit of caffeine helps take the edge off.

Something else...youtube videos with an emphasis on alpha waves. Like this one:
