Home - What Does 'home' Mean To You

Home is where I was born. Sentimental?
Home is where I live now. No connection to anything but safe.
Home I would like to find, could roam from but home is there.
Home place to dream.
Home place to grow.
Home feels to good in my car with my dog.
Home to have friends, share.

Home is my ratty little trailer I found in a pasture and paid a couple of hundred dollars for.
Has no running water..no working stove or fridge. It is cluttered with art stuff, yarn and means nothing to anyone but me.
I do not let anyone in here. Ever.
My safe place. My clutter.
It is symbolic of me. Some stuff broken. Some stuff hidden away. The clutter of my brain and thinking.
I don't know If I still believe I don't deserve better. Don't think about that much anymore.
But I do feel safe here.
Possibly if I can ever get a managable level of physical pain, I will do the things in here that reflect my creative side. In the meantime feeling safe here is priceless.

That could be many things at many places in my life.

It is where I lay my head at night.

Void of love. "Home is where the heart is" I never understood. Home is simply where I live to me.

a place where I Live, where no one criticises, I can drop bread crumbs on my couch, but having the option, am I going to clean now or in 20 mins.

A clean Toilet is a must to me.

Traditionally home has been synonymous with judgement, ridicule, abuse, no personal space. I'm 47 and I'm finally finding a way to break the connection between the word home and my parents' house. Slowly it is beginning to mean safety, joy, peace, solitude. Maybe even love.

But where the little pieces of good memories come together in my mind, that is where home is for me.

I don't think I've had a place I considered home since I was a kid. Mostly growing up I had my mom's house where my brother treat me like crap, and my dad's where his girlfriend's son treat me like crap. Then I had a bunch of temporary homes in my 20's, and now I have a place where my wife treats me like crap...

This is the same for me. Im desperately trying to find a way out. Living here is killing me. I have no home but only a space i exist in.
