Just a quick note to introduce myself to everyone. I to find people here to connect with in order to gain support and encouragement while at the same time being about to provide support and encouragement. I have had PTSD, Depression and Anxiety for 8 years and was fortunate enough to have gotten into an intense 2 year therapy program that really, really helped me. I am fairly stable right now and in a good place. I just returned part time to work after being off for 2 years, and I am struggling a bit with that. If anyone has any suggestions for coping with work and the stresses it brings on I would appreciate it. I woke up this morning with a massive headache from grinding my teeth, stiff neck and a lot of tension in my neck and shoulder. I have come to understand I get like this when I am stressed and worried about something.

Anyway, that is a bit about me. I hope this site is very friendly. I was on another site and really enjoyed it but they decided to make it better and I cannot even figure out how to post a new thread. I felt so stupid I left the site and came over here. I could not seem to get anyone to help me, I guess it was easy and I was stupid. I started to beat myself up and I decide their site was not worth it to me, so here I am starting all over, saying good bye to people I came comfortable with. Anyway fingers crossed this site will be as friendly, helpful and wonderful as the other one was before all the changes.

Hi Donna - welcome.

You might consider signing up as a member; right now you are posting as a guest, and therefore have access to fewer aspects of the site.

Membership is free :)

I hope you find our community helpful, regardless!

Welcome, Donna. Hope you find support here, like I have.

I find updates challenging too; usually muddle through them.

With work stresses, besides the usual mindfulness exercises, I pay attention to noticing what things at work raise my tension level. After identifying them, I apply basic coping strategies (breathing, increasing my organization, asking for help, speaking to a therapist, going to a support group like Alanon, etc.).

Hi Donna...Welcome to the forum! :)
The information and support found on this site is great. Anything you need assistance with can be posted on the help desk and the answers are simple and clear, even for someone who is technically challenged like I am. Here is the link for the new member section, so if you would like to join the community this will help with navigation and participation.

Hi Donna, I am brand new here too. For me, work was the thing that I credit for saving my life. It was the way that I could burn anxiety by doing a physical job, unloading trucks. I received pride for a job well done. And I got a sense of purpose and order in my life by having a set routine that had to be maintained. And it allowed me to be a self-sufficient individual. These assets allowed me to see myself as a contributing member of society and pushed me to be a better person in spite of my multiple diagnosis and the adverse effects that they brought me on a daily basis. My brother took his life 4 and 1/2 years ago. I push myself just a little harder because I am living for 2 now. Many Blessings to you Donna.

Welcome to the forums  I hope this place helps you. It's very useful because of the bulk amount of people who feel similar and understand. There is a lot of advice and support to be found here :) I hope that this amazing community helps you as much as it helped me, reading all the similar stories, and learning a lot along the way. Hugs if you accept
