[Sharing this from a Battle in Distress: Solid group trying to stop the suicide bomb]
HORSESHOE. Safety brief all. You are all familiar with the normal stuff. I won't lecture you about all that. You know not to drink and drive etc. Instead, I'm goin' over other important things that are not in other safety briefs because it is why we are here.
1) Pick a buddy, not like to go to the bar but that is fine too, no I mean pick a buddy to talk to if you need help or are having a rough time. Which just ties in to the next one
2) If you need help or just need someone to talk to, please do it. There is no shame and we are a no judgement zone here. We are made up of veterans who all have seen a lot. We all have combat traumatic stress issues, depression, anxiety, etc, some of us have lost friends to combat and/or the invisible wounds and all of us want to help.
3) Remember We are ALWAYS here, we have people here on the forum checking messages all the time. No matter what day it is you will be able to get someone. So don't think this brief means we are checking out for the weekend.
4) If you don't want to talk to us please talk to a friend, a coworker, a religious leader, a counselor, Someone.
5) Always remember you have a brother and sisterhood of veterans more than 2 million strong that have raised their right hand like you to protect this country that, I promise you, are willing to help and lend an ear. We are here for you. Stay safe this weekend, have fun and we are here to chat about anything the whole time. Always know that YOU DO NOT WALK ALONE.
