I try not to keep count of the number of admissions or the length of stays. I did 12 months straight about 6 years ago, and I've been bouncing in and out ever since. For me, it's more important to just remind myself that I was in hospital because I needed the support at the time, and however frequent or long that is, that's what I needed.
If you and your doctor agree that hospital is a safer place for you to be right now, then use that support. There's no wooden spoon prize for needing hospital more or less than others. You've had a rough year, and if hospital is helping you get through that, don't worry about counting admissions - focus on what you need right now to keep yourself safe, and move forward from there.
Hospital is awful. Needing to be in hospital truly sux. But if it's what you need, it really is okay to use that support. Be gentle with yourself, things will improve with time.
