How Did You Sleep Last Night?

well I finally figured out why I have a hard time falling asleep, I have been eating werthers candies while I was reading. It was a sugar rush. I will not be doing that again.

I do not know why but I got up at 1:30am this morning, so I decided to make the chili. It was a good thing I did. My husband was hallucinating and having delusions. He is still having them, but things are much calmer around here. I slept lousy. I will be so tired today. I hope I will get some good sleep today. I am cuddling with my blanket and taking it easy now. I am so tired and drained.:(

Hi Loner,

I am starting to exercise again, I go for walks (about 1-1.5km) and I'm starting to swim again with my partner.

Last year, I didn't have time to exercise because I was too busy running around at work, which was a public school on about 6 acres of land......I was flat out carrying computers and running between classrooms!!!

I'm going to try to get back into swimming a little more now, maybe 2-3 times a week......I've been allowing things to run me over and then using them as an excuse to not exercise.....it's high time I kicked my own arse.

I slept ok. Drank some strong beer, not much but with this heat wave it ended up giving me a headache. Generally speaking, though, I am sleeping better than I have in 30 years.

My method at this point has been rock climbing in the gym twice a week, running 5k 2-3 times a week, and each night a few puffs on a heavy Indica. It's working and I am so happy. A good nights rest is like gold to me. I am almost getting weepy from sharing this it is so relieving. I am so grateful.

Every possible bad thing that could have happened last night happened. My shoulder hurt, I ended up in the corner, my face hurt, I heard auditory flashbacks, I went to bed and had the recurring nightmare about my little brother and my nanny trying to kill him.

I should not have looked up my main abuser at eleven o clock at night to see if she really was real. (typed in her name, and the name of my former school- found a school photo of her as a teacher 40 years ago. Same name, same physical look as in my flashbacks... Like... "Dude oh my god she's real!" )

Don't look up anything else, and I can at least attribute everything to my imagination. Hoping for a better sleep tonight.

Wow, sorry to read that Jen93. Its all too familiar for me. Sounds like most of the nights of my life but more so even in the last 5 years since the PTSD went full bore. New and affirming information is always shocking for me too and produces pretty gnarly flashbacks as well.

Take it easy.

I found at the store some stuff called Dream Water.... has melatonin and some herbal stuff in it, thought it couldn't hurt and so I bought one dose bottle. I drank it, waited the half hour it suggested, and wow... I felt so sleepy. I thought, "alright!" Off to bed and finally going to get some sleep. This was about 11:30pm. I slept... I woke up... I thought, "Yes! I made it through the night!" Then I looked at the clock. Five minutes till 2. Bummer. Wasted my money on that product.
