How Do You Focus On Emotions

How do you really focus on how you are feeling? When you've developed so many blocks its hard enough. So once you become aware of the mental blocks that don't allow you to feel things. What methods can you use to think about your feelings and understand them better? Or even just feel them to begin with?
 
Mindful meditation has worked for me best - awareness of body sensation

Focusing by Gendlin was a great assist - but the process can result in VERY powerful experiences so you might want to go slow if you go that route.

I say - Look to the body to learn how you feel.
 
I agree, mindful breathing, focusing on my breath when I am numb, gets the feelings out when I am feeling stuck, they are always sitting in my stomach like a big lump.
 
It's one of the most difficult things to do, especially if you are an empathy and you have your own issues to deal with. I have to refocus on crocheting or something to keep my hands busy by crafting to keep myself in check. If I don't, I will become unbearable and show my fangs....
