@Barconian, while I understand your feelings entirely, Chris has stated that he wants to be in a relationship with this woman, meaning that this situation is different that what you're talking about.
Of course, we all need love! But I'm just saying that if he is in love with her and has been for awhile and she knows (and has PTSD), that could be triggering, because it's hard to believe that someone sees the real you underneath it all when you feel like sh*t. Add in the fact that he (sorry to be talking about in the 3rd person, @Chris516) didn't talk to her for 9 months and there is a lot of reason for feeling unsure about things and pulling away/isolating.

I suggest using it before you make it anymore decisions... I know it may be awkward, but if she doesn't want to use it, you got a whole nother can of worms to deal with.
