Hi, I have found this site in an attempt to get as much info about PTSD and as much advice as possible.

My husband left me 2 weeks ago having told me he no longer loves me. He was diagnosed last week with PTSD due to childhood abuse and combat stress.

My husband is still serving in the armed forces and we were due to move to a new army house at his new base, he left me on the same day that the house had been packed and all our belongings were on the lorry. Being ex-forces myself, I was able to contact the correct people and get the lorry turned around and moved back into the original army house. I now have 93 days before I have to move.

I have 3 children, 18 months, 9 years and my step son has just come to live with us, he is 18 and suffering also with severe anxiety.

I have been begging him for months to get help and in April he finally did, however its taken till last week for them to diagnose him. Our marriage has been very difficult the past year. He has totally shut off and has no empathy to the situation he has left myself and the children in.

All his thought processes seem to be 'all or nothing' and he believes that the marriage breakdown is the cause of his depression, however I have watched him deteriorate for 12 months.

I cannot get my head around his thought process, I understand he is ill and want to support him I just don't know how to break through.

Thanks for any answers or support
