How do you take control on impulsive behaviors (i.e. overeating, spending)?

I mealprepped on Monday and I am intentionally trying to drink more water and I have to say that has made me feel a little less craving of bad foods. Also having cooked food on a day like today when I'm so anxious I can barely function felt like such a relief. Opening the fridge and knowing I already have food cooked and veggies cut and ready for salad. It's a huge difference.
