General How Well Do You Sleep, As A Supporter

I have not been sleeping very well at all this last week, though I cannot blame it on hubby and his PTSD.

It is all me, struggling with the hot flushes at night keeping me awake. Its the menopause, but I am thankful that this is all that I am suffering with.

Still not sleeping properly, but now it is because I have a water infection. I have medication for it now though.

I was hoping to sleep tonight being so tired, but hubby has put a stop to that because he is snoring like a steam train.

Last night was not good. Hubby did not want to come to bed, which meant I got next to little sleep.

Bloody short lived, wasn't it? I am the Queen of insomnia, very little sleep over the past few days, now I have the chance at early bed, don't have to get up tomorrow for work, and it's BOING!!! Eyes wide open, even though I am existing on about 4 hours of sleep in 2 days. No reason, not ruminating about the ex Dude, no real worries, comfy bed even though I am away. Sigh. Maybe need to hit the quack for some "help" when I am away. Which is about 8 months a year.

Feeling achey tired but not sleepy. Have been like this for a few months on and off. :( Hubby is ready for bed at 9pm, by the time he's had his meds and we've brushed our teeth we hit the sack 9.30ish. My brain is bouncing around and I fidget so I get up and watch TV. Usually get tired and go to bed around 1.30 but wake every couple of hours or so. Hubby's newest meds have improved his sleep a lot so he gets maybe 4 - 5 hours on a good night which is twice what he used to. :)

Writing this up I guess I'm still on the old regime!

Sounds like geranium might help, I'll try it. Thanks Amethist x

Two nights of seven plus hours of straight sleep - not in a row but… Oh, except when I got up to check the dog last night. But I don't count "external wake ups" if I go right back to sleep.:)

Have been using herbal tablets, passiflora based, for the past 6 months or so. At first they worked well with 2 at night. Reluctant to go to GP so I re-read the label yesterday,,,,, recommended dose is 3 at night. took those last night and got 4 hours straight. Feeling more awake this morning.

My sleeping habits are very weird. Since I've been living with my Marine I've learned that I have sexsomnia (I can and have literally had sex in my sleeo without being awake and have no recollection of it the next morning). On the flip side there are times where I wake up at the drop of a hat if he moves or is having a nightmare, but then I struggle to fall asleep and will lay awake for a while if he's not laying next to me. I started a nightly tradition where I give him a nightly back and/or foot massage to help him relax. That combined with him listening to reruns of Family Guy and his medication on occasion helps him to sleep more soundly through the night.

At this time my wife has not been diagnosed, nor treated for anything yet. She has symptoms of P.T.S.D. and she is in denial. For the past 3 months my sleep pattern is getting out of hand. I can sleep 4-6 hours before I wake up out of a dead sleep. I also noticed that I am now anxious and wondering if my wife is sleeping. She had an issue with possible hypervigilance or hyperarousal, I have seen her sleep has been improving and I am hoping that she can make better and clearer decisions since she sleeps in a vacant bedroom.

I have been having bad dreams about my wife leaving, abandoning me in a remote location. I even remember dreams where she is behind a closed door and I am not able to talk or see her. I wake up in a panic...then I try to get back to sleep and that seems to be only part of the time.

I used to sleep 8 hours without waking up.....I miss those days.
