I'm in the Pacific Northwest in a temperate rainforest. Once the rain and grey starts here in the winter, it goes straight through until the 'summer' when, if we are lucky, we get 3 weeks of sun. And it's cold to your bones wet and gray!
Sometimes I wonder why I stay here........but the trees and green and incredable. Biggest trees on the planet and green everywhere!
Today, we are lucky, we are actually having a fall where it's been crisp, clear and cool. But soon, the rains will begin. A coworker once said, starting in October, she doesn't ever see a neighbor for 9 months! Most people 'get by' by reading a lot, going to the gym and light boxs are big.
I'd fit in in England!

Whoa, it was just grey a few minutes ago, now the sun and white fluffy clouds have poked through!
Southern Indiana here,
Light blue skies with little puffs of white clouds. Sun is out and, although not bright, it's soft, gentle and warm. The slight breeze brings a chill with it that gently warns of the impending cold front moving in. (60's today, supposed to be in the 30-40's tomorrow.)
The trees are starting to change: some a lighter shade of green, some yellowing, some oranges and reds...slowly changing as if reluctant to lose the spring.
I used to love the changing of the seasons, but worry now. Hubby's got rheumatoid arthritis and the changes bring flareups and decreased activity and mood swings which kind of put a damper on enjoying the outdoors. But I still manage to grab my camera as I take occasional walks around the neighborhood. I put the digital photos on my Picasa screensaver and enjoy them year round.

It's been nasty today. rainy, cold and now snowing. Supposed to get 2-8 inches of snow tonight. Oh joy winter is early, just what we need!!!! NOT!!!!!!!

It's 5:15 am on Nov 5th and the temp here is 46 degrees. Unbelievable for this time of year.....
The storms are coming in now. Will be for the rest of the winter, one right after another......rain, cold, wind. They can be poweful here.
Winter before last, huge Douglas Firs were snapping like fire crackers all around my cabin......one that was at least 3-4 feet diameter at breast height barely missed my car! One guy had a tree fall on him right next to his girlfriend and he was gone, just like that. The trees here are big!
Pray for no big windstorms this year......although exciting, I love weather.....they are treacherous.

We have had a few inches of snow here and there so far this winter, but for the most part the weather has been really good. TILL TODAY!!!!! UGH!
Snow storm, the first of the season. It's nasty outside, and getting worse by the minute.....Expecting up to 16 inches of snow. The roads are treacherous, and I have to go out this evening and bar tend and serve at some dumb Christmas party........ OH how wonderful !!!!!!!! NOT in this crap.....
Then on Sunday we get to endure a Nor 'Eastern.....How fun will that be???? I hate winter!!!!
