Hubby Has A New (albeit Voluntary) Job!

It's been over two years since hubby's last day at work, and since then he has been medically retired.

He's been saying for a long time that he wants a job, but hasn't had the confidence to apply. Also, the jobs he's been talking about have tended to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

But, an ex-colleague contacted him on Facebook about driving a mini-bus for local elderly folk as a volunteer, and asked if he would be interested. He said yes, so she put him in touch with the organiser and gave him a glowing reference.

He was invited in for a chat, at the end of which they encouraged him to take the mini-bus out for a quick spin to see how he felt driving it. And that was it. As of 1 June he has a new job!

I'm so proud and excited for him :happy:

That's absolutely fantastic , I'm so happy for both of you. I'm sure hel love his new job it will give him the opportunity to concentrate on nice things in life, being back in work will him to gain his confidence again. Really well done to him. Hel prob feel really nervous nearer to time and will need lots of reassurance which I'm sure hel get . Wish him luck from me x
